Will a DWI prevent me from getting a job?
A DWI conviction can absolutely wreak havoc on a person’s professional career. School admissions offices, the military, and private employers all look unfavorably on criminal convictions. That is why it is critical to keep your record clean.
It is also important to note that many people with DWI charge on their record may be eligible to expunge the charge, or seal the record of conviction. To find out more, go here.
Any time a person is arrested, the record of the arrest is recorded. This creates what is commonly referred to as a “criminal record.” This record does not go away on its own — no matter what happens in your case.
A conviction is a secondary thing that will or will not appear on a person’s “criminal record” depending on what ultimately happens in the case. As discussed above, it is imperative to try an avoid convictions at all costs.
However, simply having the record of an arrest on one’s criminal record can be detrimental. It will always appear in a background check. Many employers still hold it against a person if they have an old criminal charge on their record — even if the matter was subsequently dismissed. This scenario is most often seen in fields like education and law enforcement, however, any employer could use this information in a discriminating way.
Will a DWI affect a background check?
If you were charged with DWI and subsequently received an acquittal or dismissal, the record of the criminal charge still exists. It can be successfully, removed, however.
I hired Mr. Trey Porter after getting a D.U.I. Was very much scared because I am a nurse and thought I would lose my livelihood. Mr Porter was reassuring and kind. He was also very confident.

Mr Porter was recommended to me by a coworker. He helped her out of a DWI 3 years ago, and he did the same for me.

Trey is one of the best in the business. I was in complete shock of the outcome for the case, the best scenario was achieved in a not so great situation. Would absolutely recommend to everyone.
